Mosfiloti is a pure Greek village in the district of Larnaca and is located in the heart of the three major cities of the island, Nicosia, Limassol and Larnaca. The village is surrounded by the mountains Pipis, Vizakeri, Petromuttos and Kalogeros. The mosfilia tree is a common association with the name of the village Mosfiloti (crataegus azarolus). These trees are prevalent throughout Mosfiloti. Presently there are 1,158 residents in the village (World Population Review).
The already-existing monastery of Agia Thekla served as the center of the Mosfiloti village which was built around the monastery. The monastery of Stavrovouni and the one of Agia Thekla, were both founded in the year 330 AD. During the Byzantine era was when the village was constructed around the beforementioned monastery.
The House of Platini in Meneou, has been awarded with two Guinness World Records. The museum is dedicated to the French footballer and former UEFA president Michel Platini. The museum features a huge collection of sports exhibits. Platini himself has visited the museum twice and there are 182 items signed by him. Moreover, there are a few restaurants and traditional taverns located in the village that serve refined Cypriot food.
