Parental leave for people who are self-employed

Due to a recent Plenum approval, self-employed workers will now be eligible for parental leave benefits and benefits. The Social Security Law amendment ensures self-employed people's eligibility for these benefits in the event of a work-related injury. The amendment also creates the insurance protections that are required in order to enable the delivery of these benefits.

Additionally, the Leave (Paternity, Parental, Care, Force Majeure) and Flexible Working Arrangements for Work-Life Balance Act has been amended by MPs. This modification makes it clear that the Social Security Act's provisions apply to the terms and circumstances of obtaining parental leave allowance. Additionally, it adds to the terms of Bill No. 22, which expressly guarantees the right to parental leave allowance to self-employed individuals.

A further development is the approval of a change to the Social Insurance (Fund Accounts) Regulations. This modification makes sure that the increased rates of insurable salaries are credited to the basic pension account and the supplementary pension account in the same amounts. This applies to employees, self-employed individuals, and those who are voluntarily insured and have made contributions.
