Cyprus is preparing to introduce a new emergency communication system designed to make it faster and easier for people to contact emergency services when they need help. The upgraded platform will support not only voice calls but also real-time text messages, images, videos and automatic location sharing, allowing emergency teams to receive more accurate information during critical situations.

The new system will bring emergency communications together into a single platform, helping improve coordination between different response services. It will also support automatic emergency alerts from compatible vehicles and offer better accessibility for people with disabilities, making emergency assistance available to more members of the community.

Once completed, the modernised system is expected to improve response times and provide emergency teams with the information they need to react more quickly and effectively. The project marks an important step towards enhancing public safety and ensuring people can access help more easily whenever an emergency occurs.
