Livadia is a Municipality/town of the district of Larnaca which is built in the north of the city, at an altitude of about 15 meters. A community that has expanded significantly recently. It shares a border with Oroklini to the northeast, Kellia to the north, Aradippou Municipality to the west, and the sea to the southeast. Since Livadia is so close to the highway of Rizoelia - Paralimni and Nicosia - Larnaca, the road system connecting the Municipality with the rest of Cyprus can be characterized as outstanding. It currently has 5,329 residents (World Population Review).
The name Livadia was inspired by the area's meadow-like terrain, meaning a flat area with flowing water and plenty of grassy vegetation for grazing. The town also has on the north-eastern side the Livadia Regional Gymnasium, which started its operation in 2002, while the Livadia Regional High School is a short distance away. Additionally, in Livadia you can find the Reed Memorial Museum, which has been established in 2016 with the intention of preserving local residents’ memories of the use and processing of reed.
One of the significant sights which borders Livadia is Oroklini’s Lake, one of only seven natural wetlands on the island. The Lake has been designated a Special Protection Area under the European Birds Directive, for two bird species that nest there. Livadia can be described as an art center since it has established a municipal philharmonic, a mandolinata, a theater and painting workshop.
From modest apartments and townhomes to opulent villas and maisonettes, Livadia has it all. The town is serene and quiet, but if you desire some city vibes, Larnaca city is just a couple of minutes’ drive away. Find your ideal property on our listing with 1 entrepôts acheter in Livadia.
