Paralimni-Deryneia launches free diving guide to showcase its underwater world
The Paralimni-Deryneia municipality has launched a new diving guide to promote its marine environment and enhance its tourism offering, focusing on sustainable development. The guide was presented to local diving centres in the Protaras and Kappari areas as part of efforts to better organise and promote diving tourism in the region.
The guide maps all recognised diving sites within the municipality and classifies them by difficulty level. It also includes safety information and descriptions of marine life and the unique characteristics of each location, making it a practical tool for both divers and professionals.
According to the municipality, the guide will be distributed free of charge to residents and visitors, serving both as a visitor resource and an educational tool. Officials said the initiative aims to highlight the area’s underwater ecosystem while strengthening the municipality’s natural identity and supporting sustainable tourism growth.
