A new remote-controlled lifejacket system has been introduced at Ta Bania beach in Paphos, aiming to improve safety and response times during rescue operations. The system is significantly faster than a swimmer and can operate over long distances, allowing lifeguards to respond quickly and effectively when needed.

Local officials highlighted that this is the second system installed in the area, with plans for a third already under discussion. The equipment is designed to support lifeguards and enhance overall beach safety, especially during busy periods.

Authorities also emphasised the importance of using modern technology to improve visitor experience and maintain high safety standards across Paphos beaches, reinforcing the area’s reputation as a safe and well-organised destination.
