Ormideia is a village in the south-eastern part of Cyprus. It is located in the district of Larnaca. It borders with Xylotymbou, Achna, Xylofagou, Avgorou and Dekelia. Ormideia got its name from the bays that exist on its beaches and it is situated in a valley.
In Ormideia there are two Primary Schools. The 1st Primary School is located on a hill and was built in 1935. The 2nd Primary School is also built on a hill, but was built in 1991. The community has everything someone might need from hospital, post office, bookstore, cafes, supermarkets, pharmacies, kiosks and more. Ormideia’s Pomegranate festival, which features jazz, dance, singing, and, of course, lots of pomegranates and their numerous variations, are held each September in the village. In the middle of the community is the Agios Konstantinos Alamanos church.
Ormideia is fairly near to the Famagusta district, and touristic areas such as Ayia Napa. It is also only a short distance away from the beaches in Dekelia. In addition, Larnaca city is only about 20 minutes away by car.
