Christmas bonus to support 65,000 families in Cyprus

The Deputy Ministry announced that thousands of benefits recipients in Cyprus will receive a Christmas bonus, supporting around 65,000 families at a total cost exceeding €17 million. The bonus aims to assist those on minimum wage, low-income pensioners, families with three or more children, single-parent families, schoolchildren in the north, and war veterans.

Recipients on minimum wage will receive an amount equivalent to 80% of their basic needs, while low-income pensioners will get a sum matching their December allowance, with a guaranteed minimum of €100. Families receiving child allowances for three or more children, as well as single-parent families, will also receive the same set amount. Families with children attending schools in the north will be granted an amount equal to their December 2025 allowance.

Payments will be made in stages throughout December: war veterans and widows on December 10, minimum wage recipients on December 12, unemployment benefit recipients on December 15, and low-income pensioners, larger families, single-parent households, and those residing in the north on December 17.
