EAC continues smart meter installations across Cyprus throughout December
The Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC) is continuing its islandwide rollout of smart meters throughout December as part of efforts to modernise the electricity network and improve consumer services. The authority announced the specific areas where installation teams will be active this month.
In Nicosia, works will take place in Strovolos between Stavrou, Spyrou Kyprianou and Strovolos Avenues, as well as along both sides of Tseriou, Stavrou and Strovolos Avenues. Installations will also occur in the Gallou Presvi area and in Lakatamia, between Spyrou Kyprianou Avenue and Hippocrates Street up to the Lakatamia Airport boundary.
In Limassol, teams will operate in Limassol, Mesa Geitonia and Agios Athanasios, including areas south of the Agios Athanasios Industrial Area and along both Agios Athanasios Street and Georgios Grivas Digenis Street.
In Larnaca, work will focus on the area enclosed by Grigori Afxentiou Avenue, Chrysopolitissa Street and Archbishop Kyprianos Avenue up to the port roundabout.
In Famagusta, installations are scheduled in Protaras, particularly the Profitis Ilias area and both sides of the Protaras–Cape Greco Avenue up to Protaras Avenue.
In Paphos, the project covers the area bounded by Poseidonos, Apostolou Pavlou, Agion Anargyron and Melina Mercouri Avenues.
The EAC notes that each meter replacement requires a short power cut, usually no longer than 20 minutes.
