Energy-smart schools for future generations

Twenty-five public schools across Cyprus are being upgraded as part of a major programme to create more energy-efficient and comfortable learning environments. Improvement works have already been completed at several schools, with the remaining upgrades expected over the coming years.

The renovations include better insulation, upgraded roofs and windows, energy-saving LED lighting, improved ventilation systems and the installation of solar panels. Many schools will also benefit from greener outdoor spaces, roof improvements and other enhancements designed to improve everyday comfort for students and staff.

Once completed, the upgraded schools are expected to use significantly less energy while providing healthier and more comfortable classrooms throughout the year. The project also aims to encourage environmental awareness by creating modern school buildings that support a more sustainable future for the next generation.
