EP election candidate submission on April 24th

The timeline for candidate submissions for upcoming elections has been announced by the Ministry of Interior. For the European Parliament elections, candidates must be submitted by April 24. Following closely, on April 25, candidates for various local positions such as Presidents of Provincial Authorities, Mayors, Deputy Mayors, Municipal Councillors, and School Board Members will be submitted.

For Mayors and Members of Community Councils, the deadline for candidate submissions is April 29.

It's important to note that April 2 is the final day for voter registration and applications to vote at polling stations abroad for the European Parliament elections.

On April 12, the Minister of the Interior will publish decrees outlining the election procedures, appoint key election officials, and issue warrants to them.

By April 19, notices regarding submission dates and places for candidates will be published by the Chief Electoral Officer and Returning Officers.

The sequence continues with candidate submissions for European elections on April 24, followed by submissions for local positions on April 25 and Mayors and Community Council members on April 29.

On May 10, the Minister of Interior will issue a decree determining electoral districts and polling stations.

By May 31, a notification regarding the allocation of voters to polling stations will be published.

Voting is scheduled for June 9, with vote sorting and counting to follow. The declaration of elected officials and the return of Election Warrants to the Minister of Interior will occur on June 10.
