Project worth €6m to upgrade public transport infrastructure
A new central bus station is set to be developed in Larnaca, with construction expected to begin in mid-2026. The project, valued at over €6 million, marks an important step in upgrading public transport infrastructure and improving connectivity across the city and surrounding areas.
The station will be built near the marina on a site selected for its strategic location and accessibility. Designed to serve urban, intercity and regional routes, it will also provide direct links to Larnaca International Airport. The development includes road improvements to facilitate bus movement, as well as modern passenger facilities such as ticket offices, waiting areas and service amenities, all housed within a covered structure.
Once completed, the station will feature multiple bus bays, parking spaces, taxi areas and maintenance facilities, creating a well-organised transport hub. The project forms part of a broader effort to enhance mobility, streamline traffic flow and support sustainable urban development in the region.
