An additional 3.5 million cubic metres of water have been allocated to strengthen irrigation supplies in key agricultural areas, helping support farmers and improve water availability during the growing season.

According to updated water management plans, 2 million cubic metres will be directed to the wider Paphos region, while a further 1.5 million cubic metres will support irrigation needs through the southern water distribution network. The revised allocation follows a review of current water reserves, supply levels and regional irrigation requirements.

The additional resources form part of broader efforts to enhance water security and improve long-term management of water supplies. Ongoing initiatives include the expansion of alternative water sources, measures to reduce losses within distribution networks and the increased use of recycled water, all aimed at supporting both communities and the agricultural sector in the face of growing water challenges.
