Plans are moving forward for the creation of a modern autism centre in Famagusta, with completion expected within the next 18 months. The project, with an estimated cost of €4.5 million, aims to address growing needs in the region by providing specialised support and services for individuals with autism.

The centre is being developed in cooperation with local authorities in Ayia Napa, reflecting a broader effort to strengthen care and inclusion within the community. The initiative builds on earlier planning and highlights the increasing focus on improving services for individuals with autism and their families.

The announcement coincided with a large charity running event supporting autism awareness, which attracted thousands of participants from Cyprus and abroad. Proceeds from the event will contribute to related support services, reinforcing community involvement and ongoing efforts to enhance resources for autism support across the district.
