New plans are being explored to expand park-and-ride services across Cyprus as part of wider efforts to improve daily travel and reduce traffic in busy towns and cities. The idea is to encourage more people to park outside urban centres and continue their journey by bus, helping ease congestion while making parking more accessible.

Park-and-ride services can offer a more convenient way to travel, reducing the number of cars on the road and improving traffic flow during busy periods. The proposal is currently being reviewed alongside other ideas aimed at improving transport options and making everyday journeys easier for both residents and visitors.

While the expansion is still under consideration, one of the challenges remains the shortage of bus drivers, which has affected public transport services in recent months. Finding long-term solutions to strengthen the public transport network will play an important role in supporting future improvements and ensuring reliable services across the island.
